Terms of Service
Last updated Oct 8, 2026
Draft for the beta. Parts marked “To be confirmed” are not decided yet, and parts marked “For attorney review” still need a lawyer. When the text is final, we will update this page and ask everyone to agree to the final version.
In short
- Torio is a network for people who work in security, and a way for approved security companies to find and invite guards.
- Torio is not your employer and does not hire anyone. Guards and employers make their own choices.
- Be honest, treat people with respect, and use other people’s information only for hiring. We remove abuse and close the accounts of people who abuse others.
- Who runs Torio
- To be confirmed: the legal name of the company that runs Torio
- Mailing address
- To be confirmed: mailing address
- Privacy and support questions
- help@jointorio.com
1. Who can use Torio
- You must be 18 or older.
- Torio is for people who live and work in the United States.
- Use your own name, and keep your password private.
- Give true information and keep it up to date, including your license details.
- If you sign up for a company, you must be allowed to recruit for it. You agree to these terms for yourself and for the company.
2. What Torio does, and what it does not do
- Torio is not an employer, a staffing agency or a background-check company. We do not decide who gets hired.
- An invitation from an employer is a chance to start a conversation. Saying you are interested is not accepting a job. Pay, hours, duties and every other part of a job are agreed between you and the employer.
- When we check a license, a Torio staff member compares the details and photos you send with your state’s license record. A check is not a background check. It does not confirm your work history, and it does not promise you a job. Licenses can change or expire after we check them.
- Examples on this website are made up.
For attorney review: Whether Torio may describe itself as not a staffing agency or background-check company (employment-agency and Fair Credit Reporting Act questions).
3. The beta
Torio is in beta. It is free for guards and for employers right now. We open Torio state by state, so some features may not work where you live yet. We may change, pause or stop features while we build Torio.
4. What you post
- You own what you post, such as your profile, posts, comments and documents. Post only what you have the right to share.
- You let Torio store it and show it to the people your settings allow, only to run Torio. This ends when you delete it or your account, except for the copies our Privacy Policy says we keep, for example while a report about it is open.
- We may remove anything that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines.
5. Zero tolerance for abuse
Torio has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Follow the Community Guidelines. You can report a post, comment or profile from its menu, and you can block any member. When something breaks the rules, we remove it, and we can pause or close the account that posted it.
6. Rules for employers
If you use Torio for a company, you also agree to these rules:
- Recruit only for real jobs at your own company, and describe them honestly.
- Use guards’ information only to recruit them for your jobs. Do not sell it, share it outside your hiring team, copy it in bulk or use it for marketing. Do not send guards marketing texts, calls or emails.
- Hire fairly. Follow equal-opportunity laws. Do not post jobs or make decisions that discriminate because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other trait the law protects.
- Follow the job-ad and pay-transparency laws where you hire.
- Do your own hiring checks. Torio’s license check does not replace the checks the law asks of you, such as confirming a guard’s state registration. If you get a background check on a guard, follow the Fair Credit Reporting Act and your state’s laws.
- Keep documents a guard shares with you safe, use them only for that job, and delete them when you no longer need them.
7. Pausing or closing accounts
- We can remove content, pause an account or close it if someone breaks these terms, puts other people at risk, or if the law requires it. We tell you when we pause your account or remove your network posts or comments.
- You can stop using Torio at any time. To close your account, see Delete your account.
8. Copyright
If you think something on Torio copies your work without permission, email help@jointorio.com with a link to it and a description of your work. We remove content that breaks copyright and close the accounts of people who do it again and again. Our copyright agent is To be confirmed: registered copyright agent and address.
For attorney review: The copyright notice wording and the rule for repeat infringers.
9. Disclaimers and limits on liability
For attorney review: This section is not written yet. A lawyer will add what Torio promises and does not promise, limits on liability, and who pays for claims caused by misuse, including whether each part applies in New Jersey.
10. Disagreements and the law that applies
If you have a problem with Torio, email help@jointorio.com first so we can try to fix it.
For attorney review: Which state’s law applies and where disagreements are decided: To be confirmed: governing law and courts.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we change the date at the top of this page and ask you to agree again on the website or in the app before you continue.
12. Notices
We send notices to the email address on your account or show them in Torio. Send notices to us at help@jointorio.com or by mail to To be confirmed: mailing address.
13. If you use the Apple or Google app
For attorney review: Apple’s and Google’s required points, to be checked by a lawyer.
- These terms are between you and Torio, not Apple or Google. Torio, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app, its content, support and any claims about it, including claims that it breaks a law or someone’s rights.
- You may use the app on Apple or Android devices you own or control, as the store’s rules allow.
- You confirm you are not in a country the US does not allow trade with, and not on a US government list of people who may not get US services.
- Apple and the companies it owns may enforce these terms as they apply to the iPhone app.
